I was asked by the members of my uni student body to do a poster that represented the “body” as a paint brush for an upcoming performance night. I immediately thought of a pen on paper drawing my friend Anna Farrell did for me during a lecture in first year uni. (It’s a fat guy attempting to wear the dis-embodied flesh of his equally fat female victim.) As seen in “The Silence of The Lambs” by Buffalo Bill. So I coloured it in, added a background and some text and there it is.
Ann Farrell is one of the most talented artists I have ever met. Her drawings have so much movement and texture. She can effortlessly portray what she sees in front of her using a bi-ro pen and a scrap piece of paper.
When I didn’t know what to get my sister for her birthday I asked Anna to do her a drawing. She drew a tower of naked men with a banana peal resting on the head of the guy at the top. My sister still has the drawing sitting on her desk.
